Danny Nail is a retired NASA engineer and now a lay minister here at Melbourne GCI. He worked at the Kennedy Space Center for 31 years beginning with the Apollo program. Attending three colleges, Troy University, Auburn University, and Florida State University, he achieved a B.S. in electrical engineering at AU and an MBA from FSU. Over his exciting career with NASA he worked on many successful programs such as Apollo, Space Shuttle, and Space Station. When he retired he was technical assistant to the director of electronic engineering. Danny became active in his church many years before he retired from NASA—graduating from Spokesman Club (similar to Toastmasters), ordained as a deacon then elder, and presently serving as assistant pastor. Throughout the years he remained loyal to the church and his family as he served God and embraced and promoted the good news of Jesus Christ. Danny presently lives in Cocoa Beach with his wife of 51 years, Mary Jane. He is blessed that their three children, Debra, Derrol, and Tiffany live nearby in Brevard County along with his granddaughter Emily of whom he is so proud. He stays physically fit by exercising and playing his favorite sport table tennis and a new sport sweeping across America called Pickleball.

Allison Bailey was born in London, England and grew up in Brooklyn, NY. At age 16 she graduated from prestigious Brooklyn Technical High School. When she was 20 she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts at Pratt Institute. Allison began her career in education teaching art and music at Boro Hall Academy in Brooklyn, NY in 1984.

In 1979 Allison, her parents and sister began attending the Worldwide Church of God. She particularly enjoyed serving. She became a member of the choir and helped arrange the flowers for church services each week.

After her father began showing symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease Allison and her parents moved to Palm Bay, Florida. She decided to further her education, and in 1992 earned her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Central Florida. Three days after graduation, Allison began teaching 2nd grade at Citrus Elementary School in Vero Beach, FL and has been teaching there ever since in grades K-3. Some of her current Kindergarten students are the children of Allison’s former students.

In 2001 Allison earned certification from the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards, and subsequently supported other teachers in her district going through the NBC process by designing Professional Development and opportunities for support.

Allison has remained with the Worldwide Church of God, now renamed Grace Communion International. After her father passed away in 1998, she moved to Fort Pierce, FL to be closer to work, but continues to attend services in Melbourne, FL. She and her mother, Joyce, headed the Meals-On-Wheels outreach there for over 15 years, until Joyce became physically unable to continue. Currently Allison serves as Worship Leader and a member of the church’s Advisory Council. She also runs the registration desk at Regional Church Conferences.

Allison enjoys watching the antics of her mischievous cats, participating in trivia contests, spending time with her friends, and going on Caribbean Cruises. Her favorite scripture is 1 John 4:4  “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”

Fred & Marianne Legg

Fred has been married to Marianne for 39 years and has a daughter and son in their 30s.  Shana is married to Oliver and has 4 children, Tim is married to Lisa-Marie.  Fred spent 4 years in the Navy as a gunner, spent 5 years as a Domestic/International Sales Rep. / Divisional Computer Head for Union Carbide, then worked for almost 35 years in the Health Profession as a therapist. The most enjoyable part of my jobs over the years were the learning and developing new skills to help people.  Fred is a professional artist, enjoys fishing, loves to work around the house “jack of all trades.” He enjoys reading and spending time with family and friends. He began attending Grace Communion Melbourne in 2014.

I met my wife (Marianne) in Woodbridge, NJ while attending the World Wide Church of God.  She was born in Scotch Plains, NJ. starting out as an Administrative Assistant @ Bell Labs, taking several courses in computer language and finishing her Associate Degree (with a 4.0 average).  After 10 years of marriage, she enticed me to move to Florida for the sunshine and warmth.  Marianne (MeMaw) spends a lot of her time with Shana's twins, and an energetic 4 year old Beatrice Rose and Volunteering @ Molly Mutt2 thrift shop for the Humane Society of Brevard, Fl.
